Stereo image-processing system with standard cameras and innovative algorithms for recognition of 3-dimensional objects
The stereo-vision module has been developed to optimise the control of automatic doors and door systems. It was important to get to grips with the general problems associated with door control, which could not be overcome using conventional methods. (e.g. pedestrian cross traffic, the effect of weather conditions and standing objects, etc.)
Supercomputing Systems AG vision-module can be applied in intelligent door openers, complex, multi-leaf door systems, in the recording of speed and direction of moving objects in industry, as well as of people, in the buildings security, etc. Its high-performance processor system uses two video cameras, which make it possible to recognise moving objects as well as their size, speed and direction of movement. Ingenious algorithms have been devised to provide a high level of stability even under difficult environmental and light conditions. Several vision modules can be put together to control complete door systems.
